When watching an Animash video, you'll find various clips of animal characters from animated movies played along with a track of audio, usually music. 2D animated sources are usually preferred, but 3D (generally CGI occasionally stop-motion) sources may also be used at times. An Animash video is a type of fan-made music video (FMV), edited together using clips from various pre-existing sources, although most "Animashers" (Animash MV Editors) prefer using footage from animated movies about talking animals made by companies such as Disney, DreamWorks and more.
Animash videos are sometimes known as Animash Music Videos (AMVs), which are not to be confused with Anime Music Videos (which are also AMVs), although there is a small amount of overlap between the two. The term " Animash" is derived from from three words: " animation", " animal" and " mashup".
